Excited to share this poster for The Black Keys in Forest Hills, New York at the historic Forest Hills Stadium with Gary Clark Jr.!
I was very excited to draw this poster of this legendary venue known for hosting the US Open and lots of tennis tournaments and big well-known bands for over sixty years!
At first I considered doing something kinda tennis-themed, but thought that would be too much, so I opted to just use “tennis ball yellow” for the band name, and green all around the venue with kind a bit of a vintage look especially utilizing the tan/pop-yellow paper color which kind of resembles an old newspaper vibe. Which also this vintage-y style, also bled over into the new recent Musikfest poster as well. So these two posters are kinda like two peas in a pod. This poster is also the first time I ever drew their infamous and awesome gear semi-truck! There is also a small motorcycle in the bottom left from the “Man on A Mission” music video. Or perhaps it’s Dan’s bike!
